Bob's Free Bikes Has Moved!
Our new location is
16548 E. Laser Dr., Suites 12 & 13 in Fountain Hills, AZ.
We provide bikes for any child, 18 years old and younger, in the greater Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area who would otherwise not be able to have one. Children should experience the responsibility, excitement and freedom that comes with owning a bike.
Bob's Free Bikes is in need of donation pickup drivers who can pick up donated bicycles and deliver them to our facility in Fountain Hills.

The Donation Pickup Driver should have a pickup truck or vehicle with a hitch. We can supply you with a hitch-mount bike rack if needed.

June 11th, 2025 - On Wednesday, thousands of PayPal employees around the world stepped away from their desks to give their time to participate in the second annual PayPal Impact Day. From packing essential kits to mentoring small business owners and volunteering with nonprofits, teams came together in service, united by a shared belief in doing good, together. This year’s Impact Day built on the momentum of 2024’s launch event, showing how the PayPal employee community can create a lasting global impact while deepening relationships and strengthening our communities.
In downtown Phoenix, PayPal employees gathered to assemble personal hygiene kits and bicycles to be given to several local non-profits, including Bob's Free Bikes.
We are extremely grateful to have received this donation of new bicycles.
Thank you to all of the PayPal team for your generosity.

June 3, 2025 - In alignment with Construction Safety Week, and throughout May, the Mortenson Company's teams held bicycle helmet drives at their project sites and offices across the country. The project sites took the lead on this opportunity, with participation in several states including Arizona. Donations came from their team members as well as trade partners, demonstrating everyone’s commitment to safety and community impact. Each office and site that participated chose a local organization to support. This year, the Phoenix office selected Bob's Free Bikes as the recipient of the helmets collected.

Mortenson is a U.S.-based, top-25 builder, developer and provider of energy and engineering services committed to helping organizations move their strategies forward. Mortenson's broad portfolio of integrated services ensures that its customers' investments result in high-performing assets.

Bob's Free Bikes gives a helmet to each child who receives a bike and this donation continues to make that possible.
Thank you!

April 5, 2025 - For the second year in a row, Bob’s Free Bikes participated in Mesa's CycloMesa event at the Plaza at Mesa City Center. Attractions included a bicycle safety rodeo, BMX stunt riders, a roller derby, zip line, live bands and food trucks. A great time was had by all.

February 15, 2025 - Bob’s Free Bikes would like to express our gratitude to Harry and Diane, owners of McDowell Mountain Cycles (MMC) for hosting the 7th annual Gran Fondo. For the past 4 years they have sponsored this event with the proceeds going to support the mission of Bob’s: giving a free bike to any child who cannot attain one. This year an anonymous benefactor pledged to match donations up to $3000. With community support we met that goal for a total of $6000. Our special thanks is also extended to Jaime Brown, MMC staff, and all the volunteers for coordinating the ride.

Over the past year Bob’s Free Bikes distributed 1259 bikes into welcoming hands throughout Maricopa County. Our Founder, Bob Mandel started giving away free bikes in 2017, working out of his garage. In the past seven years we have given away over 6500 bikes. We also would like to acknowledge our community, Fountain Hills, without the support of our friends and neighbors we would not be able to meet these milestones.

January 28, 2025 - SAVE THE DATE! The 7th annual Gran Fondo road ride sponsored by McDowell Mountain Cycles is scheduled for February 15, 2025. Last year, this free event raised $1,700 in donations for Bob's Free Bikes.

This year we have a challenge. An anonymous has offered to match all donations received, up to $3000. Please help us meet this goal!

McDowell Mountain Cycles will offer this unique ride around the Fountain Hills area. Last year, two distances are available, 55K (34miles) and 87K (54 miles). This year's routes are being finalized and will be similar in length. It will be a fully supported ride for everyone with sag support and two aid stations along the route. Both routes start and finish at McDowell Mountain Cycles.
What is a Gran Fondo? - Gran Fondo is an Italian term which very loosely translates to “Big Ride”. Gran Fondos are designed for everyone. whether you are an experienced cyclist wanting to push your own limits, or you are someone new to riding and want to ride at your own pace.

Come and support Bob's Free Bikes mission to provide a bike for any child, 18 years old and younger, in the greater Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area who would otherwise not be able to have one. Children should experience the responsibility, excitement and freedom that comes with owning a bike.

January 21, 2025 - The final tally is in. For 2024, Bob's Free Bikes provided 1,258 bicycles to those in need! We were able to break last year's total in spite of loosing a month while we relocated to our new facility.
Congratulations to our staff of dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this happen. In addition, we want to acknowledge all those who donated bicycles, parts and funding. Without their support, we would not have accomplished this milestone.
Thank You!
